Melissa Lewis – Owner/Floral Designer

For over three decades, Melissa has been a beacon in the floral design world, blending her deep-rooted passion with her entrepreneurial spirit. She first immersed herself in the art of floristry by learning the intricate rose trade from an Ecuadorian family in Boston, a journey that led her to open her own shop, The Rose Petaler, in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1992.

With a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from The Colorado College, Melissa honed her skills in business management, which proved invaluable when she sold her initial venture in 2001 to focus on her growing family. Yet, her love for flowers was too strong to stay away for long. In 2003, Melissa took over Table Tops, Etc., a beloved local business, and transformed it into a leading name in event design.

Melissa’s flair for creating unforgettable experiences has shone through in over 2,100 events, ranging from opulent galas and intimate gatherings to expansive conferences and grand weddings with up to 800 guests. Her work continues to captivate and inspire, building a loyal following that eagerly anticipates each new creation.

“I have a confession to make! When I was seven years old and living in Marblehead, Massachusetts, I stole tulips from our public gardens as a Mother’s Day gift. That was the beginning . . . and it’s only grown from there. Lilacs from my neighbors’ gardens would find their way to vases throughout my home each season. And, each year on my vacations back East, I would dry sea lavender plucked from the New England shores and moss dug from the damp Maine forests – just to add a little something special to client arrangements.

I love flowers. I have always loved flowers. I can’t tell you what a joy it is to have the opportunity to work with them every day – and share them with others!”
