Hospice of the Valley is known as one of the leading not-for-profit organizations in Arizona. They consistently assist their patients and families by caring whole heartedly in the most compassionate way possible. When I opened Table Tops Etc. I began donating my flowers to this amazing hospice care facility. For the last 15 years, we have organized post-event florals to be collected and given by our clients and shipped (with the cost donated by us) to the patients of the Hospice care.
Almost two years ago, Hospice launched a program called Dove Petals. It is a recyclable flower program that allows grocery stores and floral shops to donate their flowers to be gifted to all Hospice patients. Many dedicated volunteers are needed to perform flower pickups, create arrangements and deliver to patients to Hospice of the Valley locations, all over Central Phoenix. Even at the very end of life, flowers give the familiarity of love and reminiscent of a loved one or a place they’ve visited that made them happy. The bright colored florals and scents allow the patient’s family members feel at ease with their loved one.
We have worked alongside with an amazing service coordinator, Kristin Mikulich (pictured below) for the last few months. She eagerly arrives at our Table Tops studio every Tuesday to pick up our donations and create beautiful arrangements for their patients. We would like to give a special ‘Thank you!’ to Kristin and everyone that makes this program possible. We love being able to give multiple meanings to our flowers!
If you or someone you know would like to make a floral donation on a regular, or random, basis, please feel free to contact our service coordinator, Kristin, at her office number of (602) 636-6334.
